GST (Goods and Services Tax)

According to the revised tax rules from the Government of India, effective October 1, 2023, all deposits made into real money gaming applications, including Real Poker, will be subject to a 28% Goods and Services Tax (GST). This tax is based on GST Council rules on actionable claims for online gaming and is automatically taken out of every deposit transaction.

How GST Works on Real Poker

The user is charged GST on the full value of the deposit.
This deduction happens right away when the user makes a deposit, and the rest of the money goes into the user's Real Poker wallet as a playable balance.
The net credited amount reflects the deduction of the applicable 28% GST from your deposited funds.

Example

If you deposit ₹100 on Real Poker:

GST @ 28% = ₹21.88
Net Playable Balance = ₹78.12

So, even though ₹100 is deducted from your payment method, you will be left with ₹78.12 in your wallet for gameplay. Real Poker collects the ₹21.88 (28%) and pays it to the government as GST.

Why are deposits charged with GST?

The GST Council set the GST rate at 28% so that online real-money gaming would be taxed under a uniform taxation structure. According to the law, this tax is not on the winnings or the entry fee, but on the total amount of money a player deposits to play skill-based games for real money on Real Poker.

This keeps online gaming regulated, accountable, and transparent when it comes to tariffs and consumer protection.

Important Points to Know

Real Poker complies with all GST rules and remits all GST payments directly to the Government of India.
GST is deducted from each deposit only once and will not be charged separately for cash contests or tournaments.
GST amounts can't be refunded, even if the user decides not to play after making a deposit.
